On this day in 2017, goalkeeping heroics from Danny Ward helped Huddersfield Town progress to the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final after he saved two penalties in the shoot-out against Sheffield Wednesday.

The first leg of the Play-Off Semi-Final at the John Smith’s Stadium finished 0-0. In the second leg at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday took the lead through a guided header from Steven Fletcher before Nahki Wells equalised forcing the game into extra-time and penalties.

Chris Löwe, Michael Hefele, Nahki Wells and Aaron Mooy all scored for Town, whilst Danny Ward saved spot kicks from Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri to win the match for the Terriers.
