Huddersfield Town midfielder Scott High says the Terriers showed character to score late and finish the season with a point on the final day at Reading.

Town were trailing in the game until Rarmani Edmonds-Green’s 93rd-minute equaliser at the Madejski Stadium ensured they would take something from the final game of the season.

Scott gave his post-match reaction when speaking to #HTTV pitchside, straight after the final whistle.

“It was a very difficult game,” he said.

“I thought Reading were a very good side, they’ve got some good players there.

“But it just showed the fighting mentality there at the end when Rams scored. I think it is great to come away with a point, better off three points but at least we got something out of the last game of the season.”

Having made his professional debut in the final game of last season, the Town Academy graduate was rewarded with his first Sky Bet Championship start this time around.

“It means a lot,” the 20-year-old told #HTTV.

“I know a came on in the last game of the last season, but I think I’ve progressed, and I think I’ve done well to earn a start. I wasn’t going to pass on that opportunity.”

The midfielder also nearly capped his special day with his first senior goal for the club but saw a first-half effort hit the post after a neat attacking move that he was a central to.

“I thought it was just going to trickle over the line off the post. Hopefully, next time I can score!”

As well as hoping to score his first Town goal next season, he's also looking to build on his first Championship start with more minutes on the pitch in 2021/22.

“That’s what I want. I want to be playing every week and I’ve just got to show in training and when I get opportunities in the game that I’m ready. So, I think it’s a very good start for me and hopefully next season I can push on at Huddersfield.”
