SCOTT HIGH SIGNS A NEW LONG-TERM CONTRACT!

Midfielder commits to Town until 2025

- Scott High signs a new contract with Huddersfield Town
- Midfielder agrees a new deal running until 2025
- Club has the option on a further year’s extension

Scott High has committed his long-term future to Huddersfield Town!

The midfielder has signed a new contract with the Club that runs until the summer of 2025, at which point we have the option of a further year’s extension.

This adds three years to his previous deal, which would have expired at the end of the upcoming 2021/22 campaign.

B Team captain Scott, who was named the Club’s Academy Player of the Year in 2019, made his First Team debut as a substitute on the final day of the 2019/20 season at Millwall.

He started last season on loan with Sky Bet League 1 side Shrewsbury Town, where he made 17 appearances in league and cups, before returning to Canalside and making an impact under Carlos Corberán during the second half of the campaign.

After a further 13 Sky Bet Championship substitute appearances, the 20-year-old made his first competitive Town start in the 2-2 draw at Reading on the final day of the campaign, and was inches away from opening his goalscoring account through a first-half effort that struck the post.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán explained:

“This is very positive for the Club. During the second half of last season, Scott showed he is a player who can help the team to compete well in the Championship.

“He follows in the footsteps of another Academy graduate, Lewis O’Brien, in terms of his hard-working mentality, and it’s very positive to work with players like this. This highlights the excellent work that our Academy is making with our young footballers.

“He is a player who puts high demands on himself, which is something you need to play football at the top levels. He needs to continue his development, but the minutes he played for us last season will help him as he enters 2021/22.”

Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby added:

“It’s really positive that we’ve agreed a long-term contract with Scott, as he is a player who embodies the positive values of our club, both on and off the pitch.

“He will clearly continue to improve from this point, but he has shown that he is capable of making an impact on the Sky Bet Championship.

“Scott has a fantastic work ethic and a real commitment to be the very best he can be. I’m excited to see the player he will become under Carlos’ tutelage.”
