Lee Nicholls is ready for fight for starting spot after agreeing the join Huddersfield Town in July!
The 28-year-old ‘keeper has a lot of experience under his belt after featuring regularly for MK Dons over the last five years.
After putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal, Lee explained how happy he is to be joining the Club.
“I’m made up to be honest. As soon as I heard of Huddersfield Town’s interest I was made up and all over it. I can’t wait to get going now.
“It’s the culture of the Club, the way that the Club plays, and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Club. I thought it was a good step for me to come here, fight, and see where it goes.”
Prior to joining, Lee sat down with Head of Goalkeeping Paul Clements, a conversation which really fascinated the ‘keeper.
“Clem said to me, come in and fight. He’s watched me and know how I play. He said come in, do what you can and try to get the shirt. If Ryan does play, then I’ll back him in any way I can.
“I think when Clem spoke to me about moving here, the first thing he said to me was “I like to have two number ones”; that intrigued me, especially with making this step up.
“It’ll be good and I’m one of those people that’ll push as hard as I possibly can.”
The 28-year-old is keen not only to push him and Ryan on, but the help the younger goalkeepers at the Club too.
“I’ve played a lot of games, so I will help anyone. I love helping people and coaching, I see myself as a second coach.
“I will be willing to help in any way that I can whether that be Ryan or further down the Academy. I’m here to help.
“It all stems from when I came through. When I was at Wigan, we had a lot of top goalkeepers around me and they paved the way for me. They were always there to help me and that’s rubbed off on me.
“If I get to the end of my career and someone says he played a big part in my career, then that would be one of the proudest moments for me.”
