Fraizer Campbell has agreed a new contract with Huddersfield Town!

The 33-year-old striker’s existing contract runs out at the end of the current season, but he has agreed terms on a deal that runs until the summer of 2022, with the option of an additional year.

The Huddersfield-born man has been a mainstay in the side this season, featuring in 40 out of 46 Sky Bet Championship fixtures and scoring seven goals.

One of those strikes won Fraizer the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for September and was also nominated for the EFL’s Mitre Goal of the Year competition. He’s also an Ambassador the Club’s official charity, the Town Foundation.

Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football Operations, Leigh Bromby, commented:

“We’re happy to have reached an agreement that works both for Fraizer and the Club.

“Fraizer has shown the work ethic and physical ability, at 33, to meet the demands of Carlos’ style of play and is desperate to help Huddersfield Town progress. He puts high demands on himself and his teammates and knows what is necessary to be successful in this division.

“It’s important to us to not only have players that meet the highest of standards on the pitch, but also those who care about the Club and are excellent characters in the dressing room. Fraizer is certainly all of these.”

Head Coach Carlos Corberán added:

“I am very happy that the Club has extended Fraizer Campbell’s contract for at least another season.

“He has been an important player for us this season and is a pleasure to work with on the training pitch. He is very open to our ideas, makes the game uncomfortable for defenders, and has the skills and the mentality to do well.

“Fraizer is a very self-demanding footballer. He played many minutes in a row during the season, which shows the attitude and personality he has. He is a perfect example to any of our Academy players who train or play with the First Team and we look forward to working with him again next season.”
