RAMS: WE HAVE TO BE READY TO FIGHT

Huddersfield Town defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green says the Terriers are fully focused on making it back-to-back away wins when they make the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday evening.

Town go into the midweek Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough looking to make it two wins in the space of four days following Saturday’s victory at Queens Park Rangers.

The young defender played the 90 minutes at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium as the Terriers kept a clean sheet in the capital with a second successive shutout.

Rams is hoping to make it three in a row in a bid to claim another three points when they face the Owls in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday.

“We were buzzing with the performance to get the win and the clean sheet,” the centre-back said during Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

“When you get a clean sheet as a defender, it makes you want to go again and makes you want more.

“All the focus is on Sheffield Wednesday and getting the result there.”

The game is Town’s last before the March international break and Rams is hoping the Terriers can take momentum into that period, and the final few months of the season, by coming away from South Yorkshire with a positive result.

“A win can help but we can’t take our foot off the gas.

“We’re looking to win as many games as possible and finish as high as possible.

“They have a good squad, we just have to be ready to fight and to try to win the game.”

Meeting with the media virtually on Tuesday afternoon, Rams was also asked about the recent impact of the more experienced centre-backs in the First Team on him as a young player.

“They’re helping me so much,” he said.

“(Richard) Keogh, Stears (Richard Stearman), (Naby) Sarr have more experience than me and have been in situations like this.

“They know when to do certain things and are big for my development.

“Even the players that are injured, Schinds (Christopher Schindler) and Tommy (Elphick).

“I’m in a good position as a young centre-half here with the experience to help me.”
