Head Coach Carlos Corberán was satisfied with the way his team battled but disappointed the Terriers couldn’t turn their efforts into three points against Birmingham City.

Town drew 1-1 with the Blues at the John Smith’s Stadium in a game in which the Spaniard's side had to dig in to take something from.

Carlos reflected on the encounter when speaking to #HTTV post-match.

“We didn’t find enough opportunities to score, we couldn’t progress the ball all the times we wanted to,” he said.

“We spend a lot of energy to defend and a lot of energy to compete in the game. The team competed a lot today to get a point.

“In the moment you score the goal, you feel the result is close to you and you need to be concentrated to defend.

“But they got a corner from an opportunity we need to avoid and after the corner they score in one action that I think as a team we can defend a little bit better.

“With the goal, they draw one game that took a lot of effort from our back.”

Three days on from the defeat at Preston at the weekend, Carlos was content with the Terriers’ response off the back of that result in terms of the competitiveness Town showed on the pitch.

“When I see the team compete the way they did today, it’s always the level we need to show.

“After the last result, it was disappointing, so it was important after two days to put our energy into competing to a high level.”

Despite that, Town could only take a point from the game, something Carlos says the Terriers feel should have been more with his side's efforts in mind.

“I am satisfied with the performance, but I cannot be satisfied with the point.

“The team did a lot of things and played with a lot of determination to get the three points tonight.”
