Carlos Corberán says his Huddersfield Town side are focused on controlling what they can in order to try and get back to winning ways during Friday night’s game against Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Town go into the encounter unbeaten in their last two on home soil following Tuesday’s draw with Birmingham, but with just the one win since the turn of the year.

Carlos says the Terriers have to keep believing in themselves as they look to add to that number during Friday’s visit of the Bluebirds to the John Smith's Stadium.

"You have to have a self-confidence,” said Carlos during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.

"When you know your position in the table, you know how important every result is.

"You have to be focused on what you can control. We can control our performances."

The Terriers come up against an in-form Cardiff side that are unbeaten in their 10 matches since Manager Mick McCarthy took charge in January.

Despite the opponents’ recent record, Carlos says Town’s primary focus is on what they can do to get a result against the Bluebirds on Friday.

“Cardiff have a very good dynamic with the coach now. Every team has to decide what is best for them.

“When I watched Cardiff from the beginning, I know they had a good squad and that’s why they got into the Play-Offs last year.

“I think we need to adapt to the game and see what the best way for us is to get a result. We are focused on all the tests tomorrow.”

Speaking ahead of the Bluebirds visit, the Spaniard provided the latest team news with no fresh injury concerns in his squad.

Although the trio won’t be available for Friday night’s game, Carlos also gave an update where Danny Ward, Jonathan Hogg and Danny Grant are with their respective recoveries.

“The only player available (that wasn’t for game against Birmingham) is Jaden Brown, he is a player we have recovered.

“Fortunately, we didn’t lose any other players so we will have the same options as against Birmingham, plus Brown.

“The idea with Danny Ward and Jonathan Hogg is that they’ll be involved in the training after the Cardiff game if everything goes well,” Town's Head Coach added.

“With Danny Grant, he’s working by himself, he’s done some individual training to get himself ready. We need to manage his adaptation well.”
