Head Coach Carlos Corberán gave his thoughts following Huddersfield Town’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship.

A late Callum Paterson own goal cancelled out Josh Windass’ opener for Wednesday and saw the Terriers take a point from the Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough.

Carlos says the point was the least Town deserved for their efforts across the 90 minutes.

“I think it was a fair point because for me the team played really well in the first minutes until we conceded,” he said speaking post-match.

“We had some opportunities we couldn’t finish (early in the game) and then we got in a situation taking the risk to be more aggressive in the pressing where we conceded.

“In the second half, we took a centre-back off and put wingers on to attack more in both sides.

“In the end, fortunately, we scored in one action that was not a clear chance. I think it was the fair result for both teams.”

Reflecting on the game, Town’s Head Coach says the three points were always the target but that the Terriers will take the point and turn their attentions to preparing for the final weeks of the season, during the two-and-a-half-week break before the next outing against Brentford in early April.

“We wanted to come here and open more of a gap because the three points were very important.

“After we concede, the minimum result you have as a target is a draw.

“It wasn’t enough, but it wasn’t a bad result for us before the break we’re going to have now.”
