Summer signing Ollie Turton is ready to embrace the challenge of playing in the Sky Bet Championship for Huddersfield Town.
The defender officially joins the Terriers on 1 July, at the expiry of his contract with newly promoted Blackpool, having helped his former club win the League 1 Play-Off Final at Wembley.
His extended commitments at the end of last season delayed his first interview with HTTV, but now he can’t wait until 7 August and the start of the 2021/22 campaign.
“Just to play at Wembley, and then to achieve promotion as well; it was a big personal achievement,” Ollie told HTTV.
“However, I’m ready for a new challenge and happy to be here. I felt a change would be good for me, and when I first heard Huddersfield were interested, I was immediately drawn to it. This club has a big history and only a couple of years ago was playing in the Premier League. It’s a good place to be.
“The way they see football and the different way of playing instantly drew me in – to try something different. It’s fast, intense football, which I’m all for. I imagine it’s exciting to play!
“I feel the fittest I ever have during my career and now, after a good season last year, I want to keep on learning, developing and hopefully get better and better.”
