- Two full 90 minutes for the London-born Young Terrier

Huddersfield Town Academy midfielder Ernaldo Krasniqi earned his first two caps for Albania’s Under-19 side this week, playing in a pair of friendlies against Kosovo.

The 18-year-old, who was born in London, had previously taken part in an Under-17 training camp for Albania, for whom he qualifies through his family.

However, this week’s pair of games marked the first time he has pulled on the red shirt of his nation at Under-19 level.

Krasniqi was one of only a handful of players to play the full 180 minutes across both games, starting with a narrow 1-0 defeat on Wednesday and ending in a comprehensive 3-0 victory on Friday morning.

Ernaldo grabbed an assist in the second game at the Elbasan Arena Stadium, helping Armando Cungu’s side to the win.

Ernaldo, who joined Town from London-based Crown Pro Elite Academy in the summer of 2019, will now return to Huddersfield to join his Under-19 teammates for pre-season training.

His teammates Brodie Spencer and Conor Falls were also part of a Northern Ireland Under-19 training camp during the current international window.
