Huddersfield Town are pleased to be the first football club to sign up to the Menopause Friendly Employer standard!
Created by Henpicked, the Menopause Friendly Membership sets out to change the way people think about menopause and put support in place for employees according to their individual needs.
Working towards the Menopause Friendly Employer accreditation shows that Huddersfield Town has a clear understanding of how menopause can have an effect at work and reflects that we care about the wellbeing of our valued female colleagues, and that we are working towards long-term, sustainable change within the Club to ensure we are inclusive of all genders.
Working towards Menopause Friendly accreditation means that we must demonstrate how we are meeting and exceeding specified criteria, which will then be ratified by an independent panel of judges and lead to being awarded the standard.
Huddersfield Town’s HR Manager, Zoe Shackleton, commented:
“We’re delighted to be a Menopause Friendly Employer and to be working to achieve the full standard.
“We continually look for practical ways to support our employees, to ensure we cater for their health and wellbeing needs, and to reduce any representation gaps where possible. Being fully inclusive of females and having a more equal gender balance in the Club is one of our fundamental equality aims, so being openly menopause friendly was an easy decision for us to make.
“It’s important that we understand what our individual employees need, and remain a leader in our field in relation to inclusive practices, also remaining true to our aim of ensuring that Huddersfield Town is a great place for everyone.
“We will show our Menopause Friendly badge with pride, as we further continue our work on inclusion across all areas.”
