B Team midfielder Myles Bright praised his side’s preparation after the Young Terriers romped to a 5-1 friendly victory over Tadcaster Albion.

Bright netted Town’s fifth in a game, which the Young Terriers dominated against a robust Albion.

The 18-year-old was delighted with the emphatic win, stating that it was the team’s hard work in training which helped them to victory.

“I’m happy that we have won this game!

“It was a big game for us and with the preparation in the week, I’m happy that the boys have got off to a good start - there are many more wins to come.

“I feel like the training for the last four weeks has been very good and has helped us perform as we did in this game.

“The possession work in training is very beneficial for me - keeping the ball and going side to side - as when I play on one wing and it comes to my side I try to penetrate and create a chance to score.

“It felt good to get 90 minutes under my belt; it was my first game back and I am feeling very fit.

“Scoring felt very good too. It is something I would like to work on this season by adding a few more goals to my game to help the team win.”

Bright came into today’s pre-season opener on the back of signing his first professional contract with Town.

The B Team midfielder shared the story of putting pen to paper on the deal, as well as stating his intentions for the future.

“It was a very good experience for me and my family.

“My mum came up from London to celebrate this moment with me - me and my mum were both very proud.

“For the two years of my scholarship, I tried my hardest, and it has paid off.

“I just want to thank Worthy for helping me get through the times and teaching me different ways of the game.

“Going into next season, I would like to make my Championship debut, and who knows what that could lead to.

“Maybe if I get one chance to play, I’ll be able to carry on.

“My main aim is to try and get into the First Team and help the team.”
