Attacking midfield player Danel Sinani has today joined Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan from Premier League new boys Norwich City!
The 24-year-old Luxembourg international arrives at the Terriers ahead of Sunday’s season-opening Carabao Cup game at Sheffield Wednesday, having completed his medical at Canalside on Tuesday.
As part of the agreement with Norwich, Town have the option to purchase Sinani permanently at the end of the season.
Left-footed Danel adds to Town’s creative options in the centre of midfield, although he can also be deployed as a winger.
Born in Serbia, he moved to Luxembourg as a five-year-old and has earned 34 caps for his nation, being named their Player of the Year in 2019.
He moved to Norwich in 2020 and spent last season on loan at Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian top flight.
Head Coach Carlos Corberán commented:
“We’re pleased to add Danel to our squad. He is a player with the versatility to play down the middle as a number 10, or on the right side, and he gives us real possibilities.
“He has scored a lot of goals in different countries and now he has to show his ambition and level in the Sky Bet Championship. In the middle of the pitch, he can improve our finishing, as opposed to helping in the build-up. He is also a good option as a taker in set-piece situations, which is something we wanted to add to the squad.
“He’s an international player and that gives him really good experience too.”

“It’s great that we have been able to add Danel to our squad ahead of the season, and I’d like to thank Stuart Webber and Norwich City for their help in completing this deal.
“Adding a player who can help our chance creation in the middle of the pitch was a target and we believe Danel fits the bill. He’s a skilful footballer who has had a really interesting career to date, and it was clear how determined he is to be a success in England when we first spoke.
“We believe he will really suit our style of football, and add to it. I’m excited to see him pull on the Huddersfield Town shirt.”
Danel will wear the number 24 shirt during his time with the Club.
