COVID-19 testing update
- Glossop and Hyde friendlies postponed after latest Covid-19 testing
- Small number of positive COVID-19 tests
- Academy activity suspended until Monday 12 July 2021
Huddersfield Town’s Academy friendlies against Glossop North End and Hyde United have been postponed following the Club’s latest COVID-19 test results.
The Club can confirm there have been a small number of positive tests for COVID-19 within the Academy following the latest round of testing at Canalside. The individuals will not be named due to medical confidentiality.
The Academy will now go into a short period of closure to break any transmission link and safeguard the safety of players and staff.
Due to this, the Club have decided to postpone the pre-season friendlies.
The Young Terriers are in a separate bubble to Town’s First Team, so Saturday’s First Team friendly against Harrogate Town will not be affected.
We will continue to strictly adhere to the EFL’s COVID-19 protocols, ensuring that Canalside remains a safe environment for the players and staff.
