B Team goalkeeper Jacob Chapman has signed a new contract with Huddersfield Town!

The 20-year-old Australian, who joined the Terriers in January 2019 after a successful trial, has committed his future to the Club until the summer of 2024.

Born in Wahroonga, Australia, Jacob played for Marconi Stallions and Sydney United 58 before his move to West Yorkshire 30 months’ ago.

He gained his first experience of senior football through a 2019/20 loan spell at local non-league side Ossett United, soon following that up with an appearance as an unused substitute in Town’s Sky Bet Championship game at Fulham in February 2020.

More recently, Jacob received his first call-up to the Australia Under-23 squad as they prepared for the Olympics, joining for a training camp in Spain in May 2021.

Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys explained:

“Jacob has progressed very well in his two-and-a-half years at the Club, and he fully deserves this new contract.

“He’s a very willing learner every day on the training pitch, and his character makes him a very popular member of the squad among his teammates and the staff.

“The next step for Jacob’s development is to further his experience of senior football, and we’re looking for the right loan move for him.”
