Terriers side named for Emirates FA Cup tie
- Huddersfield Town side named to face Plymouth Argyle
- Head Coach Carlos Corberán gives opportunity to several players
- Town debuts for Mustapha Olagunju and Pat Jones
Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán has named the starting line-up for this evening’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie against Plymouth Argyle; 6pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
As he explained in advance of the game, Corberán has rested the 11 players who had started the last five games over a 17-day festive period.
However, nine of the starting side have featured under Corberán already this season.
The first of the two debutants is 19-year-old centre back Mustapha Olagunju, who has previously been an unused substitute on three occasions for Town’s First Team and has just returned from a loan spell with Vanarama National League South side Welling United.
The second is 17-year-old winger Pat Jones, who was recently an unused substitute for Town in the 2-0 Sky Bet Championship win over Watford in December.
There are three other players making their first Town starts tonight; Spanish midfielder Álex Vallejo, Town Academy graduate Josh Austerfield and striker Kieran Phillips.
Ben Hamer captains the side tonight, making the 350th start of his domestic career in all competitions.
Newest recruit Rolando Aarons is a substitute; one of six who could make their Town debut this evening.
Unfortunately, January recruit Danny Grant - who was due to be in the squad tonight - is not risked as a precaution due to a slight hamstring issue.
