Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien explained that a lapse in concentration cost them against Millwall.

The Terriers conceded in the opening five minutes of the game and weren’t able to draw the scores level.

When speaking after the game, Lewis explained how much harder the opening goal made the game.

“I think we controlled the game. We had a lapse in concentration in the first five minutes and left a free man at the back post and we suffered from it.

“When they went 1-0 up so early on, they just sat in and it was hard to break them down throughout the whole game.”

Town dominated possession but didn’t manage to get onto the scoresheet. Lewis explained how difficult it was to break Millwall down.

“We went to there’s and won 3-0 so they came with a game plan. As soon as we gave them that sloppy goal, they were going to sit in as much as they can and wait for us to break them down.

“Even though they sat in we created chances until the end, but it’s hard when teams are banked in all 11 behind the ball. We can’t miss chances like that.

“I think you have to be patient to try and move them, but there are the times when you have to move the ball quick and try to break lines.

“It’s hard when they’re all sat behind the ball because one stray pass can lead them to a counter attack, which it did a few times. We tried to be as patient as possible and to create chances at the same time.”
