Pipa opened the scoring for the Terriers in the fifth minute, but Steven Fletcher cancelled out his goal by netting a penalty for the visitors.

Isaac Mbenza cut the ball back for Pipa on the edge of the area before the right-back saw his deflected effort go past the keeper.

The goal was the full-back’s first at the John Smith’s Stadium, courtesy of Mbenza’s seventh assist of the campaign.

Naby Sarr brought down Stoke winger Jack Clarke just inside the penalty area with Steven Fletcher stepping up to convert the spot-kick.

Stoke went down to 10 men just before the half-time whistle, something that Town looked to seize on after the break.

Lewis O’Brien went close to giving Town the lead, when Harry Toffolo cut the ball back for him. However, his lobbed effort was pushed into the woodwork by Stoke’s ‘keeper.

Moments later, Juninho Bacuna tried to get his name on the scoresheet. He cut in from the left, but his curling effort was headed off the line by James McClean.

As the clock continued to count down to the final whistle, Toffolo tried his luck, lifting his shot over the bar.

The final chance of the game fell to the Terriers. Town’s goalscorer Pipa cut inside from the right and tried to find the near post, but saw his effort go narrowly wide to share the points at full-time.
