Huddersfield Town’s Terriers Together Ambassador Tommy Elphick and Club Ambassador Andy Booth had a call with a young Town supporter this week.

Euan O’Connor, aged 12 from Kirkheaton, has a visual impairment and has been attending Town matches both home and away since he can remember.

To mark International Day of People with a Disability, Euan’s mum wrote a blog about his experiences on a match day, which explained how audio packs have helped him stay engaged with matches, even though he finds it difficult to see anything over the half-way line.

After hearing his story, the Club arranged a call for him with Club Ambassador Andy Booth and centre-back Tommy Elphick. Tommy’s role as first team Terriers Together Ambassador sees him helping the Club to promote equality, diversity, inclusion and respect.

The trio discussed how Euan now finds it easier to watch games and his usual match day experience. Euan also got the chance to hear from Boothy and Tommy Elphick about their experiences in football and ask them some great questions!

Huddersfield Town is committed to being an inclusive, welcoming Club for all and to shine a light on some of the work happening across the Club, this Saturday’s match against Stoke City is the annual Terriers Together game, read about it here!
