Head Coach Carlos Corberán says Huddersfield Town are preparing to face a different and dangerous Watford side during Saturday’s game at Vicarage Road.

The Terriers will face the Hornets for the second time in less than a month in the Sky Bet Championship when they make the trip south at the weekend.

Town were victorious in the reverse fixture at the John Smith’s Stadium last month, but a lot has changed with Saturday’s opponents who have since appointed a new Head Coach in Spaniard Xisco Muñoz.

Following Xisco’s appointment, the Hornets have beaten league leaders Norwich City and gone toe-to-toe with fellow Championship high-flyers Swansea City before narrowly losing out to Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup in their last outing.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Carlos explained the impact his fellow Spaniard has had at Watford during his short time in charge.

"Watford have changed their style in a short space of time.

"Nowadays they're playing 4-4-2 in a clear shape; it's the perfect style for the players that Xisco has.

“That’s why they have adapted very fast. They have players to be dangerous in the counter-attack.

“We've seen a high improvement in them.”

Xisco will be the second fellow Spaniard Carlos has come up against directly in the respective dugouts this season and he’s someone that Town Head Coach knows about, and has been impressed with, in recent months.

“I know him as a football player, he had a very good career at Valencia.

“When I was in Saudi Arabia, I met him, and it was the first time I was talking with him.

“He worked with good coaches in his career and after he has been studying to become a coach.

“He’s had some good experiences as a coach and now he’s here and in a very good moment.

“In these games, he has clear ideas. He’s made Watford a more dangerous team and one team more complicated to win against.”
