Huddersfield Town winger Aaron Rowe says the Terriers can take a lot from the defeat to Plymouth Argyle in the Emirates FA Cup.

Having named an unchanged line-up for five consecutive games over a busy festive period, Head Coach Carlos Corberán rested the players that started those matches and rotated by naming a younger Town side that gave opportunities for minutes to players including Aaron.

The Terriers put in a valiant effort across the 90 minutes but were condemned to a 3-2 defeat by the Green Army.

Speaking after the match, Aaron said the Terriers can learn a lot from the experience.

“We’ve been under Carlos for a while now and to play like that, we had to take responsibility.

“I think the boys did excellently to put a performance like that in, they were unlucky not to get the win. We can leave with our heads held high.

“Football is all about learning and getting better so we can definitely watch it back and learn a lot from it.”

Five Town players made their debut across the 90 minutes including four Young Terriers appearing for the first time at senior level, something they and the other young players will have gained a lot from, said Aaron.

“They can take a lot. It’s a little step but they should enjoy it.

“It’s great first of all to play in the FA Cup and after a performance like that they should be very proud.”

It was also a particularly memorable night for the 20-year-old who netted his first Town goal with a superb curling effort into the top corner.

It’s something that means a lot, he told #HTTV.

“I’ve always said my left foot is better than my right even though I’m right-footed but it’s bittersweet not to get the win,” he said.

“I’m proud to get my first professional goal.

“It means a lot to me and my family. All my family at home was watching but of course it’s bittersweet.”
