Huddersfield Town travel to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship, looking to get back to winning ways.

The match will take place on Tuesday 16 February 2021 and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

When the two sides met earlier this season, the Terriers recovered from two setbacks to win 3-2 showing great character against Neil Warnock’s side at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Middlesbrough currently sit 8th in the Sky Bet Championship table just six points from the Play-Off places!

They’ve managed to take 40 points from their 29 games during the current campaign, however they do come into this match without a win in their last five – losing four of them.

Former Town Manager, Neil Warnock, has turned the Club into one that was battling to stay in the second-tier of English football to one that’s challenging to make it into the Premier League.

At the Riverside, Boro has won seven of their 11 games this season. They have the ninth best home form in the Sky Bet Championship.

Boro come into Tuesday night’s game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Derby County; that was their fourth defeat in the last five games.

Their last win at the Riverside came back on Wednesday 16 December 2020 when they beat Luton Town 1-0.

Town are still looking for their first win of 2021 and come into the game off the back of a disappointing result against Wycombe Wanderers. The Terriers have only won twice away from home this season.

Jonny Howson

The defensive minded midfielder has been a key player for Neil Warnock this season.

He’s made 26 appearances so far this campaign and has one goal and one assist so far.

Defensively he’s averaged two tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.6 clearances per game.

George Saville

Northern Ireland international George Saville has been a virtual ever-present for Boro in central midfield so far this season.

The versatile midfielder has operated in the number 6, 8 and 10 roles this season and has contributed to eight goals this year (four goals and four assists).

He’s averaged around one shot and one key pass per game, whilst defensively he averages almost two tackles and one interception per game.

Britt Assombalonga

The striker is Middlesbrough’s top goal scorer this season, with five, and has certainly made a name for himself for being potent in the second-tier of English football.

He has hit double figures in the division in five of his last six seasons and joined Boro back in 2017 from Nottingham Forest for a reported club-record fee of £15 million.

The striker is well-known for his finishing ability in front of goal and averages around two shots per game.

Out of the competitive meetings between Town and Middlesbrough, it is Boro who come into this game having won the most games with their 42 wins to Town’s 33 victories. The remaining 20 games were played out as draws.
