Huddersfield Town travel to Pride Park to take on Derby County looking to get back-to-back Sky Bet Championship wins!

The match will take place on Tuesday 23 February 2021 and will kick-off at 7pm.

The Terriers were victorious when the two sides met earlier this season, Juninho Bacuna scored the only goal of the game at the John Smith’s Stadium after a scintillating break away.

THE OPPOSITION

Derby County currently sit one place behind Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship table with 34 points from 30 games. Although the Rams do have a game in hand.

Under the guidance of Phillip Cocu, Derby County endured a difficult start to the 2020/21 campaign only winning one of their first 15 games – that came against Norwich City at Carrow Road. Wayne Rooney scored the winning free-kick.

That run of form led to the departure of Cocu midway through November.

Rooney became Caretaker Manager and oversaw nine matches in total, recording a return of three victories and four draws along the way, before being appointed as their permanent boss in January.

Since he took the position permanently, Rooney’s Rams have won five of their last eight Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

Derby have only won four games at Pride Park this season, however, they three of those have actually come in their last three games on home soil!

FORM GUIDE

Derby come into Tuesday night’s game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to promotion chasers Watford; that was only their second defeat in their last seven games.

As aforementioned, the Rams have won their last three games on home soil beating Middlesbrough, Bristol City and AFC Bournemouth.

Town come into the match will confidence after a fantastic 4-1 win over promotion hopefuls Swansea City; that was the Terriers first win of 2021.

Away from home, however, Corberán’s side have only won twice.

ONES TO WATCH

Andre Widsom

The 27-year-old has played a key role in Derby County’s up-turn in form under Wayne Rooney adding solidity at the back.

The defender, who has mainly featured as a right-back during his career, has actually been in the middle of a back four for the Rams this season and has averaged just over three clearances per game.

Wisdom bagged his first goal for the Club recently in Derby’s 2-1 away win against Wycombe Wanderers.

Jason Knight

The Republic of Ireland international progressed through Derby County’s Academy and has nailed down a starting spot at the Club.

The versatile 20-year-old has pretty much played everywhere across the Rams’ midfield and forward positions this season, but he mainly operates in the middle of the park.

Knight has two Sky Bet Championship goals to his name during the current campaign and his passing accuracy is just under 83%.

Colin Kazim-Richards

The striker joined the Rams in the summer and has been the main focal point in attack under Rooney’s new regime.

The 34-year-old is the Club’s top goal scorer this year with six. He’s also set up one for his teammates. Three of those goals have come in Derby’s last six games!

Kazim-Richards averages just over one shot per game but wins almost four aerial duels per match.
