Huddersfield Town defender Naby Sarr says the 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough was difficult to take but insists the Terriers have to stick together and keep working going forward.

Despite going ahead early on through Isaac Mbenza, Town came away from the Riverside Stadium empty-handed following two goals from the hosts that turned the game around before half-time.

Speaking to #HTTV post-match, Naby explained that it was a tough defeat to swallow.

“It’s a hard one to take,” he said.

“We were 1-0 up, controlling the game in the first 15 minutes and then we conceded.

“We were still in the game after the penalty (to put Middlesbrough 2-1 up) too.

“We’re not going to hide behind excuses. We could have done more tonight to get points and unfortunately what we did wasn’t enough.”

The defender was keen to take the learning from the defeat and analysed what the Terriers could do better going forward.

“We need to be more ruthless in both boxes, take our chances and try to keep clean sheets.

“We have another game to go again on Saturday, we have no choice.”

With Swansea City next up for Town in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday, Naby says the Terriers have to stick together and keep working in order to get back to winning ways.

“It’s hard because I think the lads gave everything we can to do it right, and it’s not enough.

“We just have to keep believing that things are going to turn around for us. We have to keep working.

“It’s eight games without winning, we have to stick together and go again.”
