HARRY TOFFOLO SUSPENSION UPHELD

10 February 2021

Club’s appeal to reduce length of ban rejected

- Harry Toffolo to serve a three-match suspension
- Defender sent off in final moments of game at Luton Town
- Club’s appeal over length of ban is rejected

Harry Toffolo will be suspended for Town’s next three matches following the red card he received in Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship draw at Luton Town.

Town’s left back was shown a straight red card in the final minutes of the game at Kenilworth Road for serious foul play.

The Club accepted the decision but appealed the length of the suspension due to the circumstances surrounding the challenge.

The Club believes that the video evidence clearly shows Toffolo’s standing foot slip on the pitch, and that Harry’s lack of control in the challenge was an accident.

The appeal was reviewed on Tuesday afternoon and the FA subsequently informed us that the standard three game ban will stand.

As a result, Harry will miss Town’s upcoming games at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, away at Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening and at home to Swansea City on Saturday 20 February.

This ends a run of 119 successive starts in league competition for Harry.
