New signing Jayson Leutwiler can’t wait to get started and help the other goalkeepers at Hudderfield Town.
The Canadian international joined the Terriers on Transfer Deadline Day after a successful trial period at the Club.
When speaking to #HTTV, Jayson explained how happy he is to have signed.
“I’m delighted to be here. It’s been a few days now that we’ve been talking about it and I’m happy to start.
“Last week Clem asked me to come in to have a look how I am. We got on really well, I’ve been here a few days and it’s been good.
“I think with Clem bringing me in they knew what I was like a little bit but spending a few days here it confirmed what he thought about me.”
During the trial period, Jayson got to know the Club’s goalkeepers and gave his first thoughts on them.
“The quality is very high and I’m grateful to be able to work with some great ‘keepers and to push each other.
“I can use my experience with things that I see, with things they haven’t lived yet or with little details that can help them. If they want to take it then happy days.
“I want to tell people what I think, so if I think they could’ve done better with something, I will tell them. The same in the opposite way, I love to take critics as it makes me better. Here we have a group that likes to learn, this is a perfect fit for me.”
Having 300 career appearances under his belt, he explained how he can help the Ryan Schofield and Joel Pereira thrive.
“Joel and Ryan being quite young I think they need somebody that’s quite experienced who can help guide them; that’s what the role is. I want to come here and push them both on.
“I’ve had lots of people speaking very highly of Clem, so I’m delighted with that. The way he has worked in the last couple of days has been brilliant for me.”
