Huddersfield Town Under-17s midfielder Evander Grubb is focusing on each game as it comes as he looks to continue his improvement with Town’s Academy.

Grubb featured in the Young Terriers’ latest game against Notts County and spoke to htafc.com post-match.

“I thought we were good in the first half but not good enough in the second half.

“In the second half we didn’t really get in behind, we had one time around the 88th minute with Neo Eccleston, but that was it.”

The youngster admitted that although he wasn’t happy with his personal second half performance, he enjoyed the chance to play as a winger.

“I think I played alright. I did well in the first half, but I wasn’t good enough in the second.

“I preferred playing on the wing today. I could get in behind, go where I want and get on the ball wherever, whereas in the midfield, I was more locked in.”

“I’m taking it game by game, trying to do well each game and try to be the best on the pitch.”

Looking ahead to Town’s next fixture, Grubb gave his thoughts on where his side could improve.

“We need to stay focused; we need to be more clinical.

“When we’re attacking, we have all the possession but don’t do anything with it, so we need to do more.”

Evander and the Under-17s return to action on Tuesday 23 February 2021 when they travel to face Barnsley.
