- Midfielder impressed against Manchester City with Under-19s
- 17-year-old focused on improving his attack
17-year-old midfielder Ernaldo Krasniqi discussed some of the areas that he wants to improve upon after he impressed in Huddersfield Town Under-19s’ loss to a strong Manchester City XI on Saturday afternoon.
Krasniqi, who usually operates as a holding midfielder or centre-half, was deployed in a more advanced position in the centre, creating several chances that were unfortunate to not hit the back of the City goal.
The Albanian described his movement around the field as something that he would like to enhance in training.
“As well as attacking, there are a lot of defensive duties, but I want to work on going forward and being able to run further, which is something that I want to develop in my game.
“I think I am doing well this season; I just need to keep working hard and keep improving certain areas of my game.
“The main thing that I have been working on for sure is being more mobile and running more as well and attacking both boxes – defensively and attacking – and taking the opportunities.
“If I keep working hard then hopefully one day, I can also make that step, so I am very happy with the trust from Carlos Corberán in the Academy – it just shows to us that it is possible.”
Krasniqi spoke to htafc.com after his side succumbed to a 4-2 loss against Manchester City at the City Football Academy.
The midfielder thought that it was a great test for the side and believes that he played well in the fixture.
“In my opinion, I thought we were good, and the game was tough; Manchester City are a very good opponent and it was a good match.
“I thought my performance was good. There is always room for improvements, but overall, I thought I was good.
“It was a very good experience I have to admit, and I was very happy with the performance.”
