Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says the Terriers are working hard to turn around their recent form and are focused on getting back to winning ways during Saturday’s visit of Swansea City.

Town welcome the Swans to the John Smith’s Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship encounter at the weekend looking to gain some momentum with a first win since the turn of the year.

Speaking ahead of the match in West Yorkshire, Town’s Head Coach insists his side are determined to build on the positives shown during Tuesday night’s narrow defeat at Middlesbrough when they take to the pitch on Saturday afternoon.

“I think we finished with a positive feeling in the type of performance we showed in the final part of the previous game,” he said.

“The dressing room is very focused to get the three points. The players know how important it is to get the win.

“They’re preparing to face the game in the best way they can face it.”

Carlos will be hoping the Terriers can get a similar result to the one that saw them come away from the reverse fixture with all three points earlier in the season.

Town’s Head Coach acknowledges that a lot has changed since then however, but says the Terriers will approach the encounter looking to win the game using their strengths, just as they did at the Liberty Stadium back in October.

“It’s a long time ago (the win over Swansea), the squad is different.

“But in the same moment, they were also playing with some players that they didn’t have.

“They were playing more 3-4-1-2, now they’re playing more 3-5-2. They have also signed two good wingers since and have the possibility to play 4-3-3 too.

“In a short period of time, things change for both teams. It will be a tough game against a good opponent.

“It’s a different game but we will analyse it in the same way trying to use our strengths to go for the game.”

Ahead of the game, Carlos also provided the latest team news, including an update on Isaac Mbenza who was forced off during Tuesday’s game at Middlesbrough through injury.

“All the players that we had on Tuesday, other than Mbenza, are ready to face the game,” he said.

“Mbenza I don’t think will be available.

“We did a scan yesterday and it was positive because we didn’t find an injury.

“This afternoon he’s having another scan on the abdominal to look for anything underlying because there is still some pain.

“We will analyse that and see his improvement, but I don’t think he’ll play against Swansea.

“(Danny Ward) continues working with the medical staff. He’s in the right way but hasn’t trained with the group yet

“(Jaden Brown) is going to be one possibility more to move into the squad.”
