Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says his side are eager to use the quick turnaround between games to immediately produce a response during Tuesday night’s game at Middlesbrough.

Town were beaten by Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend but go to the Riverside Stadium just three days later with an opportunity to get back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship.

Carlos believes the short gap between the two matches can be positive for the Terriers as they look to register a first victory of the calendar year in Tuesday’s fixture.

“I think it’s positive when we’re playing fast because what everyone wants is to play again and change the feeling we had in the last game in trying to get a better result,” he said.

“Without any type of doubt (this is part of the learning process). We need to be ready to face these moments because they are going to be a big part of the season.”

To pick up that first win of 2021, the Terriers will have to overcome Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough side who currently occupy eighth place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Town beat Tuesday’s hosts 3-2 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and Carlos hopes his side can obtain a similar result to get back to winning ways in the midweek encounter.

“I think the game is going to be similar because both coaches continue managing the teams.

“I know that they have many other options in both defence and attack and I expect a very strong game.

“We don’t arrive to the game with the best dynamic, but what we need to do is continue believing in what can make us different and make for positive in the games.

“I trust a lot in my players and the majority part of the performances we’re showing. I know we need to keep improving, be positive, and to be honest and realistic with the situation.”

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon, Carlos also detailed the latest team news ahead of the trip to the Riverside.

The Spaniard says that the Terriers have no new injuries to report since Saturday’s match and says that Jaden Brown could make his return during the game in the north east.

“We continue in the same level of the injuries. We will have all of the same players available that we had in the last weekend,” he said.

“Jaden Brown trained yesterday, he’ll train again today and if it all goes well, he will be in the group of players that I will decide between selecting.”
