Carlos Corberán was disappointed side’s performance against Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Terriers were beaten 3-0 at Deepdale and are still looking for their first away win since October 2020.
After the game, Town’s Head Coach explained what his side could’ve done better.
“I think it was a disappointing afternoon today because we didn’t get the result that we wanted to get knowing it was very important to us, especially with the dynamic we have in results and the part of the table we are in.
“Totally disappointing especially after the first minutes we dominated the game, started to play in the offensive half and create chances.
“Of course, in the only mistake we make in the first half managing the ball we concede one goal, that allows them to believe in the way they’re playing and lose confidence in ourselves.
“In their second goal, we lost the ball in the middle of the pitch where we don’t have to lose the ball.
“The third was the counter attack from a set piece where we were trying to score a goal to have options to take the draw.”
Town had huge penalty appeals turned down before Preston’s opener as Fraizer Campbell looked to be clipped in the area. Those appeals fell to muted ears as the referee let play continue.
The Terriers’ Head Coach, however, didn’t want to get drawn on the decision and took responsibility for the defeat.
“Sometimes small details can change a game, but I can’t talk about what didn’t happen today. I talk about what did happen and that was one defeat that didn’t allow us to change the dynamic.
“As a coach, when you are watching the team playing really well in the first minutes and then after, when you don’t help the team to change the style or the idea to create more chances and recover control of the game, of course, you have to take responsibility.”
