Our annual Boxing Day fixture, both sides made up for the lack of fixtures elsewhere in the Championship by playing out one of the most end-to-end and breathless fixtures of the season so far.
With two goals scored inside five minutes after Blackpool raced ahead with the first attack of the match and Town replied moments after, the game didn't slow down from there.
Following the opener from Yates and the equaliser from Ward, the Seasiders went in to half-time ahead thanks to a Gary Madine header - but with a serious head injury to Tom Lees causing ten minutes of added time and Town creating a flurry of chances to equalise, there wasn't a moment of pause before the break.
The second-half went much at the same pace as the first, and with Jordan Gabriel seeing red for his second booking of the match not long after the restart, Town launched attack after attack searching for a way back in to the game - which included Jordan Rhodes hitting the back of the net from his head, only to be flagged marginally offside milliseconds later!
Both sides utilised all four changes available to them after Tom Lees was taken off as a concussion substitute, meaning that after a quick-fire Sorba Thomas brace saw the game turned on its head, Town still had six minutes of additional time to see out before being able to relax.
