Huddersfield Town Under-17s midfielder Tom Iorpenda is grateful for the family environment he’s been welcomed into since joining Town’s Academy.

Tom used to be part of the Academy at Brighton & Hove Albion, being joining Town as part of the Club’s summer intake ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Since his arrival, the youngster has found himself able to settle in quickly due to the Club’s tight-knit community.

“I’ve found Huddersfield really good so far.

“It’s a real family environment and everyone’s really nice – all the staff and all the players.

“I’m far from home, and living in digs with all the boys is different, but it’s a really good learning experience.

“Everyone gets on really well, obviously we spend a lot of time together.

“We’ve all been at different clubs and a few of us have played each other a few times.

“Everything’s been going well.”

Despite still being new to the Club, the midfielder says he’s already seen improvements in his game.

“Physically my football’s improved, they’ve been working with me in the gym a lot.

“My sprint speed’s improved and I’m a lot more aggressive off the ball.”

Iorpenda also discussed what he’d like to achieve in his first season at Town.

“I want to do well in the league, it’s a hard league because we play older players, and also to win the Clarets Cup!”

Tom and his teammates are in Cup action on Saturday 21 August 2021 when they travel to take on Harrogate Town; 11am kick-off.
