- Carlos Corberán names four players competitive Town debuts

Head Coach Carlos Corberán has given four players their competitive Huddersfield Town debut in today’s Carabao Cup Round One game at Sheffield Wednesday; 1pm kick-off at Hillsborough.

Summer signings Lee Nicholls, Matty Pearson, Ollie Turton and Levi Colwill all start this afternoon, whilst Josh Ruffels and Danel Sinani could make it six should they appear from the bench today.

The starting XI is very close to the one that played the final 30 minutes of our final pre-season friendly at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday evening, with Josh Koroma in for Sorba Thomas.

As Corberán explained in his pre-match press conference on Friday, there are a few injury absences today. There’s no Pipa after he received further treatment on a thigh problem this week, whilst Rolando Aarons has a knee injury and Aaron Rowe an issue with his toe.
