NEW LONG-TERM CONTRACT FOR BEN JACKSON!

12 August 2021

B Team defender signs deal running until 2024

- Ben Jackson signs a new contract at Huddersfield Town
- 20-year-old agrees a deal running until June 2024
- Club has the option to extend for a further season

Huddersfield Town B Team defender Ben Jackson has signed a new long-term contract with the Club!

The 20-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a contract that runs until the summer of 2024, with the Club having the option of a further year’s extension.

Although most comfortable as a left-back, Ben’s versatility has seen him play as a central midfielder for the First Team.

He made his senior Town debut at the start of the 2020/21 season in the Carabao Cup against Rochdale, before making his league debut just a week later in the Terriers’ Sky Bet Championship match against Norwich City.

The youngster went on loan to Bolton Wanderers for the second half of last season, impressing both fans and staff alike, particularly with his goal against Morecombe, which helped contribute to Bolton securing automatic promotion from Sky Bet League 2.

Ben, who often captains the B Team, was involved throughout the 2021/22 pre-season with Carlos Corberán’s pre-season.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys commented:

“Going on loan last season was the best thing that could have happened to Ben.

“Since returning to Canalside he’s more enthusiastic and driven to train and compete for his place within the First Team.

“His involvement with the First Team’s pre-season was positive, and he fully deserves his new contract.

“We’re all excited to continue working with Ben and helping aid him with his next step.”
