Head Coach Carlos Corberán hailed the mentality of his players after the resounding 4-0 win over visitors Reading at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The Terriers overpowered their visitors in the second-half, and Carlos was particularly happy that his team achieved their target of a third successive Sky Bet Championship win.
“Today before the game, I said to the players that the keys were our performance, mentality and what we are able to create together,” Carlos told BBC Radio Leeds after the full-time whistle.
“I think the players played a very serious game today. We had good moments in attack, in defence, on the counterattack and in set pieces too. The team played very well and got one very positive result.
“We knew that Reading arrived to the game missing some important players and without many options from the bench, but with a strong first 11 players. I think the key was to manage the ball well and break the press.
“In the first half we shared chances. Even if they didn’t create any dangerous situations, they were close to our box in some moments. The answer of our team in these moments was very positive, as we created good moments too.
“After the goal, everybody was filled with more confidence and very focused to continue. That allowed us to get the result we wanted today.
“As soon as they pressed our line of three (in defence) with one striker, we knew the behaviours of our centre backs would be key today.”
