Head Coach Carlos Corberán says it’s a pity that his team were unable secure a winner in their Second Round Carabao Cup match against Everton.

Town were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Everton at the John Smith’s Stadium, thus ending their Carabao Cup run.

Carlos reflected on the encounter when speaking to #HTTV post-match.

“I think it was a clear pity today because for me the team had some very good moments of attack, some very good moments of pressing and some very good moments to be solid.

“The first few minutes of the game, we lost some simple passes and allowed them to counter-attack, but as the minutes passed we began to grow.

“The chances started to arrive and after they scored their goal we reacted fantastically.

“It allowed us to score the goal before we went into half time, which is a positive action and it allowed us to start to feel that we could continue going for the game.”

Tuesday evening’s game also saw a first Town start for summer signing Danel Sinani.

“Sinani is a player who we know is very talented.

“The relationship between him and Sorba Thomas worked really well today.

“By playing 70 minutes today, he’s put himself in a good position to become a competitor for the team.”
