Head Coach Carlos Corberán was disappointed with his side conceding goals that they should have been able to avoid.

Town were beaten 5-1 by Fulham in their first home game of the 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship.

Carlos reflected on the encounter when speaking to #HTTV post-match.

“Today was very important for us.

“To come back with our fans, a feeling we’ve been missing a lot, we wanted to make it our game and show something totally different on the pitch.

“In the first moments of the game, we were competing well and winning some second balls.

“We didn’t feel like any one team was dominating the other.

“We had the opportunity to score from a corner, and immediately after it was a situation that we need to avoid.

“We conceded a goal that made us lose the confidence in our attack because we knew it was a very strange goal, and it made Fulham more confident in the game.”

Carlos put the concession of the five goals down to the work of the entire team, not just his defenders.

“Of course, when we concede five goals it means that we need to work on defence, but when I analyse the goal, I think there are other things to improve.

“We will analyse every goal in the context of the game.

“When it was 3-1, for me, we conceded two goals that we could have been able to avoid.”
