Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán is expecting a tough opponent in the form of Sheffield United at Bramhall Lane on Saturday 21 August 2021.

Town go into the game on the back of their first Sky Bet Championship win of the season, a 1-0 win over Preston North End on Tuesday 17 August 2021.

Carlos discussed what he made of the game.

"In some moments it's more important to compete well than play well. You need to find the balance between the two things to get them both as high as you can.

"After a defeat like Fulham it can mean you lose a bit of confidence and that only comes back little by little with the passage of minutes and time. Over time we'll find a way to compete and perform better.

"We need to manage lots of game situations better. The game is full of game situations where you can grow.

"You need to see how your team is and not limit your players with your formation. The players are the most important thing.

"More important than the formation are the ideas. We want to be solid and aggressive in defence and brave on the ball and go on the attack. The best way to do that depends on the availability of players.”

Looking ahead to Sheffield United, Town’s Head Coach is expecting a challenge.

“When you analyse their players, they’re a high level of opponent.

“I don’t have any doubt that they’ll prove that with the passing of games.

“We’ll be focusing on ourselves and going into that game to try and compete.”

The Spaniard also provided the latest team news, including an update on both Matty Pearson and Danny Ward.

“After the warm up (ahead of Preston) Matty was feeling a little bit dizzy. He was ready to be a starting player, but the decision was made that he wasn’t feeling well enough to play in the game.

“Yesterday he went to the doctor to have a scan – everything is fine. We are going to test him today to see if he can be available or not.

“Danny Ward was having some heart palpitations. He had a scan, and everything is fine. He’s another player who we will check today in training to see whether or not he can be available.

“(Harry) Toffolo has trained for two days. He’ll train with the squad today and we’ll see how he feels. He’ll be an option we have for the team.

“Josh Ruffels is not in the same position. He needs more time. He was suffering more with the consequences of COVID-19, so he isn’t going to be available.

“Pipa continues the same. He’s had an injection and we’re going to see how he is today. If everything is progressing well today and tomorrow, he can be working with the team on Sunday.

“Rolando played some minutes with the B Team on Wednesday. That’s moved him on his way in his recovery.

“Aaron Rowe is still not working with the team. He’s started to work on the pitch with the medical staff.”
