Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán knows that Everton will be a tough opponent in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 24 August 2021.

The Terriers go into the game off the back of back-to-back Sky Bet Championship wins, their most recent being a 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday 21 August 2021.

Carlos commented on how important the win was.

“The win against Sheffield United did a lot for team morale.

“It was great to add points to the table, we know how important it is to add points.”

Looking ahead to Everton, Town’s Head Coach discussed what he expects from the game at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“To have the opportunity to play against Everton is fantastic for us.

“To be able to continue our Cup run is exactly what we wanted.

“That’s why we played the first game against Sheffield Wednesday before the League started, so that we could give it our full attention.

“I need to analyse my full squad and see which players need minutes.

“We expect a lot of competition, they’ll be a high challenge and a tough opponent.”

The Spaniard also provided the latest update on his team news.

“We know that Jordan Rhodes has a problem in his back.

“At the start of pre-season he was feeling some pain, but he could manage the pain.

“The pain didn’t go, and so the medical team decided to do a scan, and it appears that he has a problem in the bone.

“It’s something very similar to what Harry Toffolo had last year.

“We expect him to be out for two-three months."

He added:

“Pipa will be having surgery on Tuesday.

“It’s now the only possibility to solve his situation.

“The pain in his hip has been there for a long time, and from a medical point of view we were trying to avoid surgery, but the injections didn’t work.

“We expect him to be out for three months.

“We expect to have Aaron Rowe back in the next couple of weeks.

“We hope that he can be working with the team over the international break.”
