Young Terriers victorious at Canalside

- Town B ran out winners against Lincoln City
- Rolando Aarons and Kieran Phillips return from injury
- Goals from Kit Elliott (x3) and Sam Peplow

Huddersfield Town’s B Team recorded an impressive 4-0 victory over Lincoln City at Canalside on Wednesday afternoon courtesy of a Kit Elliott hat-trick and a strike from Sam Peplow.

Elliott netted twice in the first half before finding his third in the 54th minute.

Peplow also got his name on the scoresheet as he bagged Town's fourth in the 69th minute.

Rolando Aarons secured his first 30 minutes back from back from injury, whilst Kieran Phillips also made a strong return from injury as he claimed two assists.

Town began the match in perfect fashion thanks to a bright start from Aarons on the left wing. The midfielder cut in well from his left wing back position to win a corner for the hosts in the third minute.

Matty Daly's inswinger was then met inside the box by Elliott via a Krasniqi flick on before the striker fired home on the turn. Elliott's goal was his fourth in as many games continuing his fine form with the Young Terriers since his loan spell at Carlisle United.

Aarons continued to cause more trouble down the left side, finding space to drive down the left before his driven near post effort was tipped around the post by Lincoln's 'keeper.

Phillips came close to finding a second for Town just 25 minutes into his return from injury. The striker received the ball on the edge of the box, stepped inside to lose his marker and curled a left footed effort narrowly over the bar.

Building on the Young Terriers’ momentum, Aarons showcased an impressive effort just a minute later. The winger received the ball in the box, beat his man on the turn and fired a powerful shot off the underside of the crossbar.

Lincoln's first chance came in the 33rd minute as a lofted through ball exposed the Town defence. Fortunately for Town, Jacob Chapman stood up well to deny the onrushing Imps forward before Romoney Crichlow mopped up the rebound.

Despite an increase in Lincoln's intensity, Town refused to let momentum shift by doubling their lead just moments before the half time whistle. Phillips found himself in space inside the box before laying the ball off to Elliott who struck home his second of the game.

With seconds remaining until the break, the Young Terriers continued their charge at the Lincoln goal. Peplow broke down the right side before cutting onto his left and whipping a shot against the crossbar.

Town remained on top in the second half as Elliott bagged his hat-trick in the 54th minute. The striker instigated the attacking move by finding Luke Daley on the left whose cross found Phillips in front of goal. Phillips held off his marker well, opening up space to lay the ball off to the onrushing Elliott who fired a shot into the far-right side of the goal.

Peplow continued his lively performance as he struck Town's fourth in the 69th minute. The winger cut in from the right to beat the ‘keeper with a curled effort from inside the box.

Following some slick interplay between Daley and Daly on the left in the 76th minute, Daley found himself in space outside the box. The leftback's powerful strike was well saved by the Imps stopper to keep Town from finding a fifth.

The final chance of the games fell to the Young Terriers, with Brahima Diarra sharply cutting in between two players before seeing his shot deflect wide. The resulting corner saw Ernaldo Krasniqi’s effort blocked on the line.
