Huddersfield Town striker Fraizer Campbell has been nominated for the Mitre Goal of the Season prize at the 2021 EFL Awards!

The 33-year-old’s thunderous volley against Nottingham Forest has been selected for the prestigious award.

Fraizer is up against Barnsley’s Alex Mowatt, Swansea’s Jamal Lowe, Sunderland’s Grant Leadbitter and Bradford City’s Lee Novak for the prize.

The 2021 EFL Awards will take place on Thursday 29 April 2021 and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football from 7.30pm.

The Mitre Goal of the Year has been voted for by the EFL’s expert judging panel, who attended their judging day earlier this month to vote on all award category winners. The panel included a number of former players, pundits, and stakeholders from the game.

Earlier this season, his goal against Nottingham Forest won the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for September.

After receiving that prize, he joked: “I’m really happy to get the award. To be honest, it was never in doubt.

“It’s always great to score a goal. It was a great ball from Toffs too. When you’ve tried something a little bit acrobatic then it’s more special.

“We played really well that day as well, so that performance was capped off with a good goal.”
