The win was a vital one for the Terriers as they moved three points further away from the relegation zone with four games remaining.
After a slow start against the Tricky Trees, Town got a foothold in the game and started to put pressure on the hosts.
That eventually led to the opening goal, albeit from a Forest mistake. Aaron Rowe pounced on a loose back-pass before taking his time and slotting home his first Sky Bet Championship goal.
Just on the hour mark, Town then made it 2-0 through Juninho Bacuna. Ward laid the ball off to the Terriers’ no.7 who squared up his man before picking out the top corner with a superb driven effort.
