Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says he’s side are determined to secure Sky Bet Championship safety this weekend with a positive performance against Coventry City.
The Terriers can mathematically guarantee a place in the division for next season with a victory against the Sky Blues at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Carlos outlined the importance of the Terriers putting in a good showing and getting all three points from the match, when speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon.
“I think for us, this game is a very important game,” explained Town’s Head Coach during his pre-match press conference.
“We want to show our best performance because always the results will depend on the performances.
“We will arrive with a lot of determination and concentration because we know this game is key in the season.”
Even if a victory would secure Town’s status in the division for the next campaign, the Spaniard says the Terriers are looking no further than Saturday’s match and have full focus on the task ahead.
“First of all, it’s very important for us, it’s our target to keep the club in the Championship.
“Then, my only concentration is three points more. Everything will be in our hands and the future will just depend on us.
“We just want to show one good performance that can allow us to achieve this.”
Saturday’s opponents are four points and a place ahead of the Terriers and have therefore already secured their place in the league for next season off the back of three wins in their last four Championship outings.
Town’s Head Coach believes that Mark Robins’ side will provide a tough challenge, just as they did in the reverse fixture back in December when the sides played out a goalless draw.
“Coventry is one team that got the target they wanted to achieve. It’s clear that the dynamic in the last few games has been positive for them,” he said.
“I think they are a team who have a clear mentality on how to face the games to be competitive.
“When we played them away, it was a very challenging game and I expect the same in this one.”
