Head Coach Carlos Corberán heaped praise on his players after Huddersfield Town’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

A goal in each half helped the Terriers pick up all three points at the City Ground, three that are vital in the Club’s fight for survival in the Sky Bet Championship.

When reviewing the match, Town’s Head Coach lauded his players for their work rate and commitment.

“Everything we did on the pitch today arrived from the players.

“After difficult minutes at the start of the game, the team started to feel how we could compete better in the game, in terms of the defence and in the attack.

“With the pass of the minutes, the team started to have more concentration, started to press better and defended better; that’s why we could use the mistake of them with the first goal.

“We stopped the feeling of the first minutes because it was difficult. We changed the position of Aaron Rowe with Holmes to have a more clear winger on the right side and to have Holmes linking with O’Brien and Toffolo on the left hand side. I think this helped the team have a little bit more time in the offensive half. We tried to continue defending like we were and trying to create chances.

“Sometimes when you have the feeling that you need a result, you try to do things differently to try to win the game.

“I think in a couple of counters we had good options, in one we missed the opportunity when we were three vs two, but in the next action Bacuna scored a very good goal that allowed us to open a higher gap in the result.

“The team then had to make an unbelievable effort to defend. I know the high quality of Nottingham Forest, so without this level of concentration, effort and team spirit, it would’ve been impossible to get something positive today.”

Town are currently eight points clear of the relegation zone, but Corberán was clear that more needs to be done to secure survival.

“No chance (are we safe). It’s clear that 47 points will not be enough. We have four games left and our concentration will have to be the same as it was today.”
