Head Coach Carlos Corberán apologised to the Huddersfield Town supporters after taking full responsibility for the defeat against Norwich City.
The Terriers were beaten 7-0 at Carrow Road and were dominated by the Sky Bet Championship league leaders.
After the game, Corberán explained what went wrong for this side.
“There’s no type of doubt that the ideas we had today and what we did on the pitch didn’t work in any of the 90 minutes.
“From the beginning of the game, the pressing didn’t work well, the defence didn’t work well, the playing out didn’t work well, and we didn’t have moments of attack in the offensive half. We didn’t compete well in any moments in the game.
“It makes us feel a lot of pain. We know how many fans are in our back, we know how many people are supporting us, and we didn’t give them the right action that we have to give.”
After going into the break 5-0 down, Town’s Head Coach explained what his message was to the players.
“When you go to half-time with this type of result, the result of the game is not important.
“The important thing is to change the image of the team trying to change the feeling of everyone that was at home because we couldn’t keep conceding goals like we were.
“The only message was to play for us and to play for our supporters.”
Corberán also apologised to the Town supporters for the disappointing defeat.
“Many people were watching today, many of our fans, and the only thing we want is to make them proud, today was the total opposite.
“As a Head Coach, I select the players, I decide the idea of the game, I decide the plan, and I am responsible for this and the feeling we created amongst our fans.
“I must say sorry to all our fans.”
