Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán praised his side’s spirit following the Terriers’ 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Fraizer Campbell’s 55th minute goal was enough for the Head Coach’s first three points in charge of the Club.
Carlos gave his thoughts on the win when speaking to BBC Radio Leeds post-match.
“When you see that the team tried to make a performance like they did today, I think the result is always positive.
“We tried to leave everything on the pitch. I think it’s fantastic when you’re watching, and they play as a real family.
“They tried to win each ball and suffered until the end together. It was a very positive game for us.”
Town looked confident throughout the 90 minutes and battled well both before and after Campbell’s decisive goal.
Carlos explained the Terriers game plan when reviewing the game.
“The idea was to try to have the ball because we knew about the quality of their players.
“They changed their shape a little bit, we tried to adapt to that fast and tried to dominate the game from the back.
“For me, one very positive step for the team today is we had more of the ball, so we could attack more, create more chances and this is the target that we have.”
As well as a first win of the season, the victory was also the Terriers first three points under Carlos Corberán.
Town’s Head Coach expressed his delight for his players after a hard-fought performance.
“I’m very happy especially because I like it when the players have a performance like that because this is the result of all the hard work that we can do.
“We will try to enjoy this moment and enjoy the winning. It’s a moment for them because they deserve to enjoy this moment.
“We are going to continue working in the same way, but I think it’s always important to have a positive result of the effort because it allows you to keep doing this and trusting in these ideas.”
