Head Coach Carlos Corberán is well aware of the task ahead of his Huddersfield Town side when they make the trip to West London to face Brentford on Saturday.

The Terriers are the visitors to the Brentford Community Stadium for what will be the hosts’ first league game in their new home.

Speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon, Carlos looked ahead to facing Brentford, Town’s second opponents in this season’s Sky Bet Championship following last weekend’s opener against Norwich City.

“I think they are working close to two years with Thomas Frank,” he said.

“They are a club doing good things in the last few years. They have created a squad that they continue having players in from the last few years.

“For me, they didn’t play the Final of the Play-Offs by coincidence, they deserved to be there.

“The results that they got last year, and yesterday (against Southampton), are not a coincidence it’s because they do a good job.”

When looking ahead to coming up against the Bees, Town’s Head Coach said that Saturday’s opponents are one of several strong squads across the Sky Bet Championship.

As a division that he knows well from his time at Leeds United, Carlos says his side must be ready for these tests by focusing on what they can do to pick up positive results in the encounters.

“They are one strong squad. You are going to find a lot of strong squads that you are going to face so you need to be ready and you need to be strong.

“We are going to be focused on the things that depend on us and focused on ourselves, trying to develop all the resources and skills that we are going to need to face the Championship.

Saturday’s game will also be the Spaniard’s first match in charge away from the John Smith’s Stadium since he joined the Club.

Despite that, Town’s Head Coach says the approach from that in his first few games won’t change even if the Terriers are the visiting side.

“For us, every game is the same importance, every game is three points. We need to be ready to face the game at home or away.

“I don’t think the conditions are going to change (the way we play). When we play once per week, we try to give lots of stability in the weeks, continuing to prepare for the game and this is our idea until the end.”
