- Season Card update for Huddersfield Town supporters
- Deadline to renew Season Cards is Friday 4 September 2020
- Comments from Chief Executive Mark Devlin

An update on Season Cards for Huddersfield Town supporters ahead of the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

With all the uncertainty around the upcoming season, the Club has been working hard with the local Safety Advisory Group, and the EFL, to find the most practical way for supporters to watch the Terriers.

Strict social distancing methods and COVID-19 restrictions are set to remain in place for the foreseeable future, so with this in mind, the Club has put a deadline on Season Card renewals. 2019/20 Season Card holders have until 5pm on Friday 4 September 2020 if they wish to renew prior to the start of the season.

This has been set to allow the Club to crystallise plans for admitting supporters back into the John Smith’s Stadium when Government guidance allows.

In order to maximise the Stadium’s capacity under social distancing guidelines, the Club will then be contacting Season Card holders for information on who is in their social ‘bubble’ as per the Government’s definition and detailing the code of conduct for attending games.

Renewing your seat for next season, regardless of which stand your seat is in, will cost:

ADULTS - £249
SENIORS (OVER-60) - £249
UNDER-18S - £129
UNDER-8S - £49

Ambulant disabled supporters and wheelchair users should pay their relevant price class and a free Personal Assistant

Due to reduced staffing levels, we request supporters renew online, click here! Helpful information on how to renew online can be found HERE.

If you do have a query that needs personal assistance, we do have staff working from home who can help you. Please email with your contact details and we will get back to you at the earliest opportunity.

What does the 2020/21 season look like?

The Club are still waiting for confirmation regarding the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign, but all indications are that the season will start behind-closed-doors with the prospect of live football, subject to Government legislation, in October but with reduced socially distanced capacity.

With this in mind, the Club would use all four stands inside the John Smith’s Stadium so as many supporters can watch the Terriers as safely as possible.

Until 100% capacity is allowed back in Stadia, no away fans will be able to travel to the John Smith’s Stadium.

As we wait for the return of supporters in stadia, the behind-closed-doors games will be shown on iFollow HTAFC.

2020/21 Season Card holders will be allocated a code to watch all home league games on iFollow HTAFC, as well as the Club’s seven away league midweek games (excluding the Easter Monday game at Norwich). The code will work for all games, even those selected by broadcast for Sky Sports.

Under-18 Season Card holders will also receive an iFollow code but an adult will have to register for an iFollow account on their behalf.

Unfortunately, the EFL’s broadcast agreement with Sky Sports means that weekend away game can’t be given to Season Card holders for free.

Non-Season Card holders would have to pay £10 per match to watch the Terriers on iFollow HTAFC. Games that are selected for broadcast on Sky Sports will not be available to non-Season Card holders on iFollow HTAFC.

Season Card Price Promise

Huddersfield Town Chairman Phil Hodgkinson will freeze the price of Season Cards to all supporters who renew for the 2020/21 campaign for the following THREE seasons.

Supporters who request a refund for the 2020/21 campaign, will not benefit from the price freeze.

How will the Club decide which supporters can watch Town at the John Smith’s Stadium?

The Club is currently working on plans for supporters to be able to return to Stadia.

A ballot has been suggested, with feedback on this gained from the ATT panel and via HTSA supporter surveys.

31 August 2020

Please note only Season Card holders would initially be included in a potential ballot.

Should a certain number of supporters be allowed to re-enter the John Smith’s Stadium, then the Club is unable to guarantee any supporter’s seat due to social distancing restrictions.

Seating will be allocated by the Club at the balloting stage. Until social bubble numbers are confirmed we cannot confirm capacities for areas.

This plan is currently a work in progress and more details regarding this will be released when the Club knows more.

If I don’t renew, will I lose my seat for the 2021/22 campaign?

Everyone at the Club understands how difficult this period is for Huddersfield Town supporters.

If you don’t renew for the 2020/21 campaign, don’t worry, you will still have the opportunity to keep your seat for the 2021/22 season when they go on sale in 2021 or to purchase a Season Card at a revised price should full stadia capacity be restored.

I’m a hospitality guest, what does that mean for me?

The Club’s Commercial Team will be in touch with hospitality guests to discuss the 2020/21 campaign.

Huddersfield Town’s Chief Executive Mark Devlin commented:

“As a club we’ve been working really hard to plan for the 2020/21 campaign and planning for a number of different outcomes.

“It goes without saying that the upcoming season will be unprecedented and no-one, at this moment in time, knows how it’s going to look.

“We understand how difficult this time is for Huddersfield Town supporters, especially to commit to a Season Card without knowing 100% what they will be receiving for their money.

“Accordingly, the Chairman is very keen to recognise supporters who back the Club by purchasing a Season Card during this uncertain time by freezing the price for them for the next three seasons.

“We have set a deadline on our 2020/21 Season Cards to help with that future planning, so we can come up with the most feasible and practical solution for our supporters.

“We are also pleased that Season Card holders will be able to watch all home league games and seven away games on iFollow HTAFC. I think this shows a great commitment from the EFL to ensure that supporters can still watch their side.

“As soon as we receive information from the EFL regarding fans in stadia, we will communicate that with supporters. I’d like to thank everyone who has renewed so far. We really appreciate your support.”
